Cognitive skills refer to your infant’s ability to think, learn, understand, problem-solve, reason, and remember. Every baby begins to absorb information and start building cognitive skills from birth. The care and experiences that the child is provided with has a direct impact on the development of their brain.

Activities like reading to children, exposure to a variety of toys, textures, shapes and colors, and integrating cause and effect exercises where the child can experience the impact of their own actions are all very important in strengthening their cognitive skills. At My Gym, we offer age-appropriate early development classes, like the Young Waddlers program which is packed with cognitive development activities for 7-11 months infants.

Children absorb knowledge and learn skills the quickest between the ages of 0 to 5 years old. Therefore, we start them off bright & early with our early development classes for children as young as 3 months old. In the first 5 years of their life, relationships, interactions and experiences stimulate children’s development, and create millions of connections in their fertile minds. Children’s brains develop connections faster in their first 5 years than at any other time period in their lives. This is the age when the foundations for their attitude and behavior throughout life are laid down.

Enrichment classes for 7- to 11-month-old infants should encompass activities that engage and enhance the child’s various physical, mental and cognitive abilities. This is the age when babies start becoming more mobile and when they start perceiving and recognizing things like sounds, shapes, faces, and textures.

At My Gym, we offer award-winning early development classes that are designed to enhance your child’s overall development in a safe and nurturing environment, where they also interact with other children their age.

My Gym early development classes are designed to enhance children’s cognitive development, social skills, confidence enhancement, and improve their fine and gross motor abilities – all of which are essential to give your child the ideal platform for the future. Through several fun activities for kids, we stimulate their physical, cognitive and mental senses in an exciting and interactive environment, where children of similar age groups get to interact, socialize and bond with each other.
